Dofotea brand story: a cup of time tea from Fenghuang Mountain

On Fenghuang Mountain in Chaozhou, an ancient city in China, the ancient tea trees stand tall and green amidst the mist, quietly witnessing the nine hundred years of tea fragrance. Here, tea is not only a plant, but also a ritual of life, a belief passed down from generation to generation.

I am Xu Jiahua, a senior tea appraiser certified by the Chinese government and a tea farmer born and raised in Fenghuang Mountain. I was born in a tea-making family in Ermao Village, Fenghuang Mountain. Three generations of my ancestors have made a living by growing and making tea. Since childhood, I have learned from my grandfather how to communicate with tea trees and how to use fire and time to refine a tender leaf into a Fenghuang Dancong with full mountain charm.


When I was young, I left the mountain village and studied and worked in the city. Until my father passed away, I resolutely gave up my position in the bank and returned to my hometown to inherit the tea garden that belonged to our family. There, every tea tree, every ray of sunrise, and every mountain spring awakened my awe and love for this land.

The tea we produce, named "Fenghuang Dancong", is one of the rarest varieties of Chinese oolong tea. They grow in a pristine environment at high altitudes and far from pollution. They are picked by hand by the most experienced tea farmers in the village, and only the tenderest buds and leaves are selected. Each piece goes through 12 ancient processes, slowly baked with charcoal fire, repeatedly rolled, and brewed over time. It has natural orchid fragrance, honey fragrance, and fruity fragrance. It is sweet and long-lasting, and can be brewed for a long time. It is a poem and painting in tea.


But I believe that the happiness and beauty conveyed by tea culture should not belong only to China, it should belong to all mankind.

The origin of the brand name "Dofo Tea"

Relying on the strong resource background of the Gongfu Tea Conference held in Chaozhou City every year on World Tea Day in China, I have the honor to meet senior tea growers and excellent tea artists from all over China. A few years ago, when I was drinking tea with several senior tea growers from all over the country in the mountains, my cat, a gentle American shorthair tabby, jumped onto the table. Its name is Dofo. At that moment, we smiled and said, "Our tea should also go to the world like Dofo and soften every heart." Thus, the name Dofotea was born - a tea brand that carries ingenuity and nature, inheritance and innovation.

Now, my son has returned from studying abroad and is spreading the fragrance of our mountains to every corner of the world in a digital way. A group of young people built and operated this website.
