Dofo Tea's Philosophy

We Choose Loose Leaf Tea, Always

We never use tea bags because we believe nothing should stand between you and the true character of exceptional tea.

Loose leaves have room to fully expand, releasing their complete flavor, aroma, and natural richness. Watching the leaves gradually unfold is also part of the experience—a small ritual that connects you to the tea and the centuries-old traditions behind it.

It may take a little extra time, but we believe the finest Chinese teas are worth slowing down for.

In today's world of rapid development everywhere, everyone rushes through life. You might as well slow your pace, calm your mind, and use our Gongfu brewing method to craft a cup of high-quality Chinese tea that steadies your breathing. This is all something worth taking the time to experience.

Gongfu Brewing Guide

Here’s our suggested brewing method—you can adjust the tea amount, water volume, temperature, and steeping time to suit your personal taste. For the best experience, we recommend using purified water rather than tap or mineral water. Beginners can start with a regular or simplified brewing method, and if you’re interested in exploring our traditional Gongfu brewing technique, feel free to contact our customer service to book a one-on-one online brewing session.

Frequently asked questions

5 Questions
How many times can I steep Yanzike Da Hong Pao Rock Oolong Tea?

Sourced from an elite terroir, this premium rock tea easily yields 8 to 10 magnificent steepings via Gongfu brewing. The complex flavors evolve beautifully, shifting smoothly from deep roast to sweet minerals.

What does Yanzike Da Hong Pao Rock Oolong Tea taste like for beginners?

It is deep, rich, and incredibly smooth. Beginners will experience a bold but velvety profile with notes of dark cocoa, roasted stone fruits, and sweet wood smoke, balanced by a highly coveted, clean mineral finish (Rock Rhyme).

What is the best teaware to brew Yanzike Da Hong Pao Rock Oolong Tea?

A purple clay teapot (Yixing Zisha) or a thin-walled porcelain Gaiwan is highly recommended. The clay softens any harsh edges of the charcoal roast, while the Gaiwan acts like a mirror to capture its complex aromatics perfectly.

Does Yanzike Da Hong Pao Rock Oolong Tea come directly from its place of origin?

Yes, definitively. It comes straight from Yanzike (Swallow's Den), one of the most prestigious, ecologically protected "Zheng Yan" (core volcanic rock) terroirs inside the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province, China.

What makes "Yanzike" terroir so famous and special?

Yanzike is a core valley inside the Wuyi National Park. Nestled between towering cliffs, the tea plants enjoy perfect shade, high humidity, and mineral-rich volcanic soil, which gives this tea a deeper, cleaner, and more explosive "Rock Rhyme" than ordinary rock teas.

Our tea is naturally grown, hand-picked, and sourced from authentic tea gardens

Our teas are carefully picked from their authentic places of origin, then handcrafted using traditional methods passed down through generations. Every leaf reflects the purity of the land it comes from, ensuring you enjoy a truly genuine and honest cup of tea.
