Dofo Tea's Philosophy

We Choose Loose Leaf Tea, Always

We never use tea bags because we believe nothing should stand between you and the true character of exceptional tea.

Loose leaves have room to fully expand, releasing their complete flavor, aroma, and natural richness. Watching the leaves gradually unfold is also part of the experience—a small ritual that connects you to the tea and the centuries-old traditions behind it.

It may take a little extra time, but we believe the finest Chinese teas are worth slowing down for.

In today's world of rapid development everywhere, everyone rushes through life. You might as well slow your pace, calm your mind, and use our Gongfu brewing method to craft a cup of high-quality Chinese tea that steadies your breathing. This is all something worth taking the time to experience.

Gongfu Brewing Guide

Here’s our suggested brewing method—you can adjust the tea amount, water volume, temperature, and steeping time to suit your personal taste. For the best experience, we recommend using purified water rather than tap or mineral water. Beginners can start with a regular or simplified brewing method, and if you’re interested in exploring our traditional Gongfu brewing technique, feel free to contact our customer service to book a one-on-one online brewing session.

Frequently asked questions

5 Questions
How many times can I steep Ya Shi Xiang Dancong Tea?

You can steep it 4–5 times. Each infusion will reveal slightly different aroma and flavor layers.

What does Ya Shi Xiang Dancong Tea taste like for beginners?

Beginners may notice a gentle floral aroma, light honey sweetness, and a smooth, mellow body. Its signature orchid or fruity notes are subtle at first.

What is the best teaware to brew this loose leaf tea?

A small gaiwan or a Zisha teapot works best. These teaware types help concentrate the aroma and allow multiple short infusions.

Does Ya Shi Xiang Dancong Tea come directly from its place of origin?

Yes. Authentic Ya Shi Xiang Dancong Tea is sourced directly from the Phoenix Mountain area in Guangdong, preserving its traditional flavor and quality.

What makes Ya Shi Xiang Dancong Tea different from other Dancong oolongs?

It is renowned for its orchid fragrance (“Ya Shi Xiang” means “Duck Shit Aroma”), high floral notes, and medium roast that balances aroma and body. The flavor is smoother and more beginner-friendly than bolder Dancongs like Mi Lan Xiang or Shui Xian.
