Dofo Tea's Philosophy

We Choose Loose Leaf Tea, Always

We never use tea bags because we believe nothing should stand between you and the true character of exceptional tea.

Loose leaves have room to fully expand, releasing their complete flavor, aroma, and natural richness. Watching the leaves gradually unfold is also part of the experience—a small ritual that connects you to the tea and the centuries-old traditions behind it.

It may take a little extra time, but we believe the finest Chinese teas are worth slowing down for.

In today's world of rapid development everywhere, everyone rushes through life. You might as well slow your pace, calm your mind, and use our Gongfu brewing method to craft a cup of high-quality Chinese tea that steadies your breathing. This is all something worth taking the time to experience.

Gongfu Brewing Guide

Here’s our suggested brewing method—you can adjust the tea amount, water volume, temperature, and steeping time to suit your personal taste. For the best experience, we recommend using purified water rather than tap or mineral water. Beginners can start with a regular or simplified brewing method, and if you’re interested in exploring our traditional Gongfu brewing technique, feel free to contact our customer service to book a one-on-one online brewing session.

What does Woody Old Bush Shui Xian Rock Oolong Tea taste like for beginners?

It feels remarkably smooth, thick, and grounding. For beginners, it offers zero sharp edges, sliding down the throat like silk with a profound aroma of aged wood, forest moss, and a subtle hint of sweet brown sugar.

What is the best teaware to brew Woody Old Bush Shui Xian Rock Oolong Tea?

A thick purple clay teapot (Yixing Zisha) is perfect. The excellent heat retention helps slowly draw out the deep, heavy, comforting woody molecules hidden within the old-growth leaves.

Yes, 100%. This tea is harvested directly from protected old-growth tea groves inside the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province, China, from bushes that are decades old.
