Origin and production process

Fuding white tea originated from Taimu Mountain in Fuding. According to legend, Taimu Mountain was named Cai Mountain in ancient times. During the reign of Emperor Yao (2358-2257 BC), an old mother lived here and planted orchids for a living. She was kind and generous and was very popular. She used the green snow bud tea she planted as a holy medicine to treat measles and saved many children. People were grateful for her virtue and worshipped her as a god, calling her Taimu. Therefore, the mountain was named Taimu Mountain. During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, he sent Dongfang Shuo, the attendant, to various places to confer titles on famous mountains in the world. As a result, Taimu Mountain was named the first of the 36 famous mountains in the world and was officially renamed Taimu Mountain. Today, Taimu Mountain in Fuding still has the green snow bud ancient tea tree, which is said to be planted by Taimu Niangniang, the original mother tree of Fuding Dabaicha, the cave where Taimu Niangniang discovered the green snow bud and the Danjing for watering the green snow bud. More than 150 years ago (about 1857), Chen Huan from Zhulantou Village, Bailiu Township (now Zhulantou Village, Guojiang Village, Diantou Town) transplanted this tea to his home to breed Fuding Dabaicha. Fuding Old White Tea: refers to Fuding white tea that has been stored for many years, generally more than 3 years can be called old white tea. Production process: Fuding white tea has a unique production process, without frying or kneading, only through the two processes of withering and drying, to retain the natural ingredients of tea to the greatest extent.
